My local TJ Hughes store had a Medion 32" HD Ready LCD TV for £399 over the weekend. I believe it is the same one being sold at Woolies for £599. See http://www.woolworths.co.uk/ww_p2/product/index.jhtml?pid=50657220
Don't know how Medion fare in the LCD TV department but at this price its definitely a bargain!
Cheers

As with anything you get what you pay for, and I personally would not pay for this tv. Better off saving more money for as long as you can.I'm better off without you.0

I've never had a problem with any Medion kit - the company started out as a German sales company, from what I remember, just selling re-branded hardware. I believe they've gone more into direct supply now, & having seen a number of their laptops, PCs & screens, for the price I think they're very good. Also I had to contact their tech support once with a query & they were extremely prompt & helpful. As you're basically paying CRT prices for an LCD TV, it does look like a good deal.0

You obviously have some issues with this make of TV ....could you perhaps expand on the reasons for not buying and that may help the those of us who are looking for a good but well priced HD LCD and have not had the expeience of owning one of these. Thanks

For this price, this is a cracking deal.
Okay, it's not going to set the world alight, but for £399 it's a great bargain. Just a pity there are no TJ Hughes near me
JohnnypanicThe person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it.0 -

One thing - I bought the £300 26" TV from Staples a while back and it had lag too - but there is a setting (I can't remember what; something about image enhancement or something like that) which causes this.jimmmyc wrote:
There might well be a similar thing on this set - if you're interested, hunt around on the web, as people always talk about this type of thing in forums. The thanks button is here to the right. I don't know if this is the same artifact that manifests itself on my older Philps 32" widescreen TV (tube type) but it is very annoying. You seem to get a feathering image following certain movements, footballs, etc. I would have thought, though, that this would have been sorted by now.0

That to me sounds like too strong a signal and can be fixed with an attenuator from Maplins or suchlike. This problem sounds like screen-lag such as that you might find on a slow-response TFT but if the picture is being put through some digital enhancement technology it may be trying to blend two frames to correct or sharpen the picture in some way.tonysat wrote:I don't know if this is the same artifact that manifests itself on my older Philps 32" widescreen TV (tube type) but it is very annoying. Of course, it may actually be a slow-response TFT but all I was saying it's worth checking for such settings and playing about with them. The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!
