Capital One and CCCS

Capital One have once again just recently taken back a debt for their Credit Card, the balance is £170 and they are asking me to sign a form to give permission for CCCS to work on by behalf. I have been with the CCCS since April last year, so almost a year but the debt has been backwards and forwards recently and I have not known whether im coming or going with it. CCCS do have it on their records that Capital One are dealing with it again but is it right that I should be signing something to say they can work with them? The form is from Capital One not CCCS by the way.

I don't think this is standard practice (although I'm not on a DMP).
When you say they have taken back the debt again is this anything to do with you challenging the debt or have you been refusing to pay? If so I wonder if they are just trying to get a copy of your signature or it could be if you have been sending any letters from yourself they just want to confirm you are still using CCCS.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
No its always been paid and no I have not challenged the debt, although that was my thinking, that maybe that could be them forward thinking to get my signature incase I was to try and challenge it. I have no idea why it keeps getting moved about although before xmas there was a problem with one payment being late but not through my fault as CCCS took the money as normal, so maybe something to do with that.0

I would watch Capital One - I know they can be really sneaky and - how should I say it - can be a little bit far out to left field with their business practices.
To be honest I wouldn't sign anything that they have sent to you, unless you are 110% sure that you understand every last detail of what you are signing. Personally, instead of signing the form they have sent, I would write them a letter confirming that CCCS are acting on your behalf.
As for whether you should actually sign it or not, there are various tools available that allow you to put a watermark behind your signature to stop if being copied and misused - if you have access to a computer you can probably produce something yourself to print as a watermark under your signature.0
