What sells best on ebay?

Options
Apologies, I know similar questions have been asked before, but I'm just wondering what sells best on ebay.

I'm having a clear out & plan to do a carbootsale when the weather picks up, but thought it might be worth trying a few items on ebay in meantime.

Thanks

  • anything designer, or new with tags.

Kids clothes don't seem to sell that well in my opinion as they are that cheap already.

Baby toys and equipment seem to do amazingly well. My sister and bro-in-law put all their little one's outgrown stuff on eBay and it sold exceptionally well. Many of the items had watchers within a few minutes of posting.

As with everything though, I'd imagine there's pretty stiff competition, so if you're doing it for long-term profits, check out the competition beforehand.

  • whatever you choose, try to have good pictures - preferably several, but try amazon or play for books/dvd/cd, as they stay listed for longer and its soo much quicker than ebay.

What would people say the best things to sell are? What about make up and beauty things? Home made things i have heard don't do that well?

When i want to track what sells well on ebay, i just go to the completed listings icon on the left, and browse through different categories. Recently i noticed
    Disney items
    anything train related
    war memorabillia
Perfume new and used. I think people collect bottles.

basically if you have anything old/vintage/retro lying around theres a good chance you will get interest.otherwise, as already mentioned, designer clothing, famous high st do well like topshop and zara.
    Anything collectable.
Make up i find always sells better in job lots, unless new and unused, but even then can be a little bit tricky.

    Thanks for all the ideas.

I've gone up a dress size in the past few months, so I've got a few items of clothing from m&s & next sales (with tags) which were bought on impulse but don't really fit so I'll try those on ebay.

Some of the other stuff is a past it's best, but I'll do a bootsale in the summer, I've been amazed at what people have bought from me there in the past.
