CM Payments

I'm new to this and would appreciate a little help with a CSA query.

Will the csa increase cm payments if a nrp sells their house and pays the lump sum from the sale into the bank? (House has never belonged to pwc)

Idea is to buy a new home with the lump sum (don't know how long this will take)

Would appreciate any advice.

Hi RMatt, no the sale of a house and a lump sum going in to the NRP's bank account will not affect the amount of the child maintenance assessment. Savings/sale of property is not income and is not included in the assessment calculation.

Really? That's the first time I've ever heard that and I've worked there several years (although I don't actually do assessments, I admit, but I've asked this question at work and been told a definite 'no'!)! God it's scary isn't it, no wonder the place is in such a mess when the staff aren't even told half the rules.

Does that apply to old rules cases Kelloggs?

Assets over 65k can count on a variation.
