That is, on the look out to improve my situation!
Hello fellow forumers - I'm a long time lurker and decided to join up today as I've hopefully taken the first steps towards clearing my debts.
Signed up with CCCS today, and am awaiting my pack as I'm about to go down a long low start DMP route and for once money isn't terrifying me.
I've had issues with debt for almost 5 years now and have constantly juggled, borrowed and robbed from Peter to pay Paul and having taken a new job on a lower wage something had to give. And boy did it give, my poor parents got a deluge of daughter stress. At 25, and living away from the home for as long as I have, I think I am now back on the 'worry about' list.
My folks - who don't do debt so am amazed at their understanding - sat me down and went through everything with me and we've arrived at the point where CCCS's suggestion seems to be the best. Though I do need to speak to them and thrash a few things out.
Gosh, I am rambling, but I feel like the weights around my neck have been lifted slightly - not removed yet, that'll be a long time away yet.
onwards, Paddles

Well done Paddles!!

The first step is sometimes the hardest one to take. As a long time lurker you will know that if you want any tips and suggestions / advice on how to cut costs then you will need to post a SOA.
I am sure you can opt to use this space as a diary as well.
Good luck and hope things work out for you!
KPR£365 in 365 days challenge: £730 / £1500 -
Well, I'm a month in and its all going... well, not brilliantly. Ho hum.
Currently my creditors are not accepting CCCS/my monthly offers, so I'm racking up further interest and default charges.
When I sent my creditors information to say I was commencing an DMP I also wrote to ask (tell) them not to contact me on the telephone number they have for me (as it is the house all of my banking etc information goes to, but I work away) and to put everything in writing and post it to me. Unfortunately the bank I owe the most to are ignoring this and calling the number constantly. As it happens, I'm at the house this weekend and have just spoken to the bank, and told them again not to contact me by telephone and further occurrences of such calls may result in my seeking of legal advice - as I was told to tell the bank, as a letter requesting they do not use the number is binding apparently?
I should add, the number belongs to my parents, who, I feel should not be bombarded with calls from 8am - 10pm, 7 days a week by mainly one bank, whilst others who have rung have heeded the 'do not call this number again' message from my parents. I would offer my mobile number, but as I receive no network coverage at work this bank would have to leave a message, which it transpires they will not do, they will instead try the other number repeatedly.
I'm so grateful to CCCS though, the amount of times I've rung them about little things - and will be again this week about what to send the creditors who want a full financial statement and what happens now that not many of my creditors are taking up their/my offers and my debts are mounting still...
No-one said it would be easy! Feeling low at the end of this week after being ill, losing my voice, having my car vandalised and damaging my push bike that I use to commute to work at least twice a week to save car costs. Unfortunately I'm going to have to spend money on the bike or use the car excessively. Grrrr!
Thanks for reading the rant!
