Hi Sorry if this isnt in the right place. My partner was at college doing a course when she fell pregnant. Now the baby is 10 months old she wants to get a job. I am currently working full time and i have always put her off getting a job as we cant afford to pay nursery fees. Could someone please tell me how it all works? I don't see the point in putting our daughter in a nursery 9-5 and then by the time she has earned her wages surely she will end up using it all on the fees so it is pointless to work? DO we get help of any kind? We are on the bones of our a**es at the moment as we have just bought our first home and we are just about getting along with the money we have for our outgoings. Please give me some advice, its much appreciated! thanks

If your wife can work why not let her work, does it matter that its going on the nursery fees?Always ask ACAS0 -

Yes it would matter, whats the point in her working just to pay a baby sitter when she could just sit at home and be a full time mum, so i want her to work, she wants to work but obviously be left with some money to spend on our food shop lol0

Fair enough, have a look on that website, the only thing I will point out is look on the long term, the earlier your wife starts working the earlier she is likely to progress up the ladder and earn better money and ultimatley pay for the childcareAlways ask ACAS0 -
You can get 80% of registered childcare paid for by tax credits.0
