a good reason not to bother with pensions is that often they cannot be left as inheritence (other than to spouse).
You can pass on a pension as part of your estate to anyone you like if you're investing within a personal pension or a money purchase work pension.if i've been putting money aside for most my life i'd like the option of deciding what happens to it after i'm gone. if it's in a pension i don't get this.
The only option that really limits this is if you choose to buy an annuity. It's not necessary to use your pension pot to buy an annuity. Income drawdown is entirely viable and leaves the money available for inheritance.0 -
There are other siblings? Being the eldest doesn't entitle you to anything should there be anything it will be shared unless the will states otherwise. Ask Liz, Charles and Wills about power being passed to the eldest.0
