Overpay or save and settle??

Hi, we have a NR loan, with 21 months left to run.

We want to get the loan paid off early, is there any difference in saving the overpayments and settling or just overpaying directly to NR each month?

The original loan was for £7700 (i think!) and the monthly payments are £162, we could overpay at least £50 per month.

Thanks;)

    get a settlement figure
and compare it with the amount left to pay i.e. monthly amount x number of payments left

I had thought about that but we can't settle yet so is there a way we could still make a comparison? Do the settlement figures vary a great deal depending on loan anniversary?

just ask for a figure ... it doesn't mean you have to settle
