Welcome finance -help needed with statute barred debt

Thanks PNPSUKNET but as I have confirmation from Welcome that the last payment received was in December 2005 doesn't that mean that the default date should be March 2006 at the latest and not October 2006?
I am just confused as to why theyhave only registered the default in May 2010 and wondered if I could challenge this as I never received a default notice.
If I do challenge tis is there a chance Welcome could chage the balance back from being satisfied to being owed?Getting there - slowly!;)0 -
Should I pursue challenging the default or am I best waiting until it drops off in 2012? Any advice gratefully received!Getting there - slowly!;)0

A bit late coming in here. But.
Welcome have marked your file as Satisfied, as they have now sold your debt on.
The new owners of a shiny new debt is MKRR.
MKRR have little or no experience in this area, as they are apparently part of TRADEPRO. I THINK Welcome are beginning to ditch difficult debts onto this lot who, I suspect, are in for a shock of massive proportions when it begins to sink in the enormity of the task they have ahead of them. Tradepro are currenly attempting to recruit in anticipation of having to deal with their new venture.
As a result, it would certainly be worth your while holding out and refusing all contact with them until such time as they bother to send you a Notice of Assignment. Without which, they have absolutely no right whatsoever to be making any attempt to collect. So PLEASE don't even talk to them on the phone. Wait patiently for the NoA, then take it from there.Cabot can now kiss my DONKEY. Statute barred is enough of a result, but the actions of the CABOT FAN CLUB have cost them far more than the paltry sums they were chasing us for. :beer:0
