His benefits are paying for everything at the moment, but he receives a little extra because I'm living with him.
I have asked about the higher DLA, but they insist he doesn't need it.

Hopefully this situation won't be permanant as I should be able to leave him for a while to work some time soon. I don't have any real qualifications, but am hoping to go back to uni one day. I am classed as having a learning disability and I'm waiting to hear from my doctor about a specialist who can give me some advice about training and work.

I'd love to get a part time job soon, but when I went to the jobcentre they told me I could only earn £20 a week before it came out of OH's money. After paying travel and my dentist and optician bills (get them free or cheaper at the moment) we would be much worse off.

I've done the SOA with my CAB adviser and OH helping me (I'm not great with numbers). We worked out that we had -£12 to live on! Had to explain that it was negative because we only paid some bills when our birthdays came around and we got money as presents!:rotfl:

Thanks to everyone who has posted with advice. I am so much better off than a lot of the people on here and I sometimes feel guilty for complaining, so I'm really grateful to anyone who takes the time to help me. x
