Electoral roll..... it just goes to show!

I moved house almost a year ago and gave my local authority my new details for the electoral register. For months, I have been battling with Experian to update my details as my score was affected by the fact that I was currently registered at my old address.
About a month ago, I did the 'credit card match' with Experian to see what possible cards would take my custom as I wanted to transfer my balance from my Capital One card (32% apr). Unfortunately, the only cards on offer were of a similar apr.
I contacted my local authority AGAIN to check that I was registered here and they confirmed that I have been for almost a year. 2 emails and another phone call to Experian later and my details were finally updated.
What's more, I've now been accepted for a 0% on balance transfers credit card :j This is a huge milestone for me and I finally feel empowered again as a consumer.
It just goes to show that keeping up to date with your credit file and perseverence with the data is very worth while.
I tried to get Capital One to reduce my apr last week and they point blank refused. I can't wait to phone them up with my good news and to say GOODBYE!
