    Just seen that on ITV.

Not bad price unfortunately you still need a anti virus as Norton firewall is just that a firewall only, if you need builtin firewall you either need a anti virus like AVG which there is a free version available, or another AV or Norton Internet Security which is the firewall and Norton AV togther.

No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you

Norton Antivirus 2005 is included with Norton SystemWorks 2005.

    Dig in!

I think that Norton antivirus is also included with Norton Firewall.According to listings on Ebay for Norton internet security. I wouls certainly reccomend Norton Systemworks but not Firewall as i have heard alot of problems about installing. I will stick to Zone Alarm.
  • ive built and installed norton products on dozens of pcs..a lot of my clients are first time users and ive (and the clients) never had any problems.
...in fact, id recommend it above all the others. :-)

I had Norton Internet Security (AV + FW) for 3 years and my subscription is ending in a few weeks. I normally just upgrade with the same again but now there is a Windows Firewall included with XP Service Pack 2 should I not just buy Antivirus 2005 upgrade on its own to save money and system resources?

I find Norton Firewall much better than the Windows one. The Windows one is very basic. If you stop using the Norton one you will find yourself receiving loads of pop ups all the time, you won't have intrustion detection, privacy control or outbreak alert. I highly recommend keeping the Norton firewall over the Windows one.
The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)

Personally NDK40, I wouldn't rely on Windows XP Firewall. It's really not comparable with Norton FW.

For those who are getting a little confused about what's included in what:

    You can buy Norton Antivirus
You can buy Norton Antivirus and Norton Firewall (called Internet Security)
You can buy SystemWorks (which includes Norton Antivirus, but not Firewall)
You can buy Norton Firewall (which is Firewall only, no Antivirus).

    Hope that helps.

P.s. This is a pretty good price for both Firewall and SystemWorks (which includes Antivirus)!

... regarding the limitations of the Windows XP firewall

"the software suffers from two major flaws, critics say: it does not block outbound traffic, and it can be switched off by another application, possibly even by a clever worm."
