Hi
My oh has 2 credit card depts
BOS £1600 minimum payments £20 13.9 i think...
Halifax £1200 minimum payments £16 16.9 i think..
She cant transfer as her credit rating is shot and BOS and Halifax do keep sending BT offers but cant use them as they are the same bank..
I have an EGG card with zero balance £3100 limit and they are offering me 2.9% on BT till Sept 2010 WITH 2.9% FEE (What rate is the fee charged at ??) after that i think my usual rate is 19.9%...
Should i take my oh debts and out them on my EGG card.....?
any help welcome
Cheers

Hi and welcome!
I have no advise as i dont know anything about cc`s.
Would your card be paid off by sept 2010? will your partner be paying it back?
I suppose if you are in a strong relationship and trust all is well then helping her is great BUT you need to ensure she stops getting into cc debt otherwise this will become a viscious circle. Cut the cards up!
Very good of you to do so, if you go ahead!DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

Hi
Hvent used the cards in more than 3 years , were getting married in April so relationship pretty strong , and have a child together , i was more meaning , financially what happens figure wise with the transferred balance in Sept onwards....maybe i should have put the thread in credit cards !0 -
If BOS and Halifax are offering BT deals pay them off on your Egg card and then when the 2.9% ends in September BT back to either the Halifax or the BOS card - if they are not offering a BT at the time - call and ask.
Even with the transfer fees you will pay less interest.0 -
good thinking batman.....what do banks typically charge interest wise on the fee though , any idea ?0
-
Whenever I BT the fee gets included as part of the balance and becomes subject to the same terms (Barclays and MBNA) - I assume its the same with other cards.0
-
The BT transfer fee has always been charged the same interest as the balance transfer, either 0% or 2.9%, depending on which card I used.
Could you not get a zero % card and do a balance transfer on to that? Go through Quidco.com and get some cashback too.0 -
