It's her house and her money that is paying for everything.

He tried to not go bankrupt and pay off as much as he could - at least he made the effort which alot of others wouldn't have even bothered to do.

I'm not going to feel sorry for him as he will not really be having any financial hardship (i wonder if he gets pocket money), but at least he tried. If i recall, the banks were advising him and 3 of the board were appointed by them - who in their right mind takes the banks advice nowadays?

I really feel for him poor soul! Having to live in Anthea's mansion & go on expensive, exotic holiday's! I'm not quite sure where I feel for him mind.............. maybe my aching sides!
