my partner who has split from his wife has been left in debt by £50.000 the debt he has signed for is £7000 and the 1 they both signed for is £30.000 he has made offers to pay but they wont except them wat can he do please help ....:mad:

    Offers? You can't make offers you have to pay it back. You need to be clearer with amounts outstanding who with, APRs, income etc.

    OK, you need to post more information - people cannot help based on what you have said.

    He has signed or co-signed for £37,000 worth of debt. Does he have any assets to show for it? Can he sell anything to clear funds towards the debt?

    What has changed in his circumstances to stop him paying in full each month? This might make a difference too.

    If he just wants to lower the payments, then hard luck, the banks won't have it. They will only go that route if you can prove financial hardship, DMP, IVA etc.

    What are your offfers based on? Have you sent them a statement of affairs explaining what you can afford and why?
