Morning all, had another revelation overnight.
Now I'm in my DFW mode it's amazing watching tele and seeing all the adverts trying to sell the perfect lifestyle no matter what the cost:eek: My personal bugbear is the one saying that a perfect credit score is the be all and end all:mad: together with the halifax ads and all the brainwashing government propaganda, sorry adverts:D. It is really refreshing to see it all for what it is which is an effort to keep everyone's nose to the wheel and always striving to have everything even if you are deep in debt:(
I am opting out of the "system" and am not going to play the game any more (wow that feels good:rotfl:) I am now in control of my finances instead of the other way round, and have no intention of going back:T

So true... but what is crazy is when start looking at how you have gradually increased your [STRIKE]standard[/STRIKE] cost of living without even realising (eg ignoring the reduced section, buying premium brands, taking taxis, eating out more etc)... it definitely helped me to realise what, to me, are luxuries and what I'm not really bothered about and therefore can happily have the cheapest one.
I have always thought an obsession about credit scores is a sign of someone with financial problems...:) Am longing for the day when I won't care about credit scores as it will mean I have no debt....:j0 -
And I thought I as the only one who found that Halifax advert really patronising - you know, the one with the radio station. The credit score one irritates the hell out of me too."Life is a sexually transmitted disease....... with a 100% mortality rate"0

Am glad I'm not alone in hating the halifax one... at a time when the perception of the banks is that they are all run by crooks, halifax decides to try and seem warm and cuddly but goes too far the other way and suggests it's run by muppets..0

Me too, so much easier. I've stayed in a hotel with work recently and enjoyed watching TV, but as I can't really remember what I watched it just doesn't seem worth having.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0
