Loan passed to DCA when not in arrears?

Hi All
Well RBS have struck again
They've decided to pass my personal loan to a DCA by the name of Triton Credit Services (who I believe to be part of RBS) who send me letters periodically asking me to either pay up in full or "significantly increase" my repayments.
The only problem I have with this is that in the 5 years I've had this loan, I have never defaulted - my credit record proves it.
The only thing that happens, is when my solicitor sends them a letter basically telling them where to go....they send another letter to me saying "we're pleased to agree a further 6 months' temporary arrangement and the payments will continue as normal.
Are they allowed to do this?!

Hi TM,
I'm with RBS and have been passed to Triton as well. Its still RBS just there inhouse team. From what i have been told they can't have what you haven't got. Just keep sending them the letter. Incedently why aer you using a solicitor? Doesn't this cost you money? CCCS are free
Good luck0 -
This thread needs claryfing a bit ? as the OP as i read it is saying they are paying the right amount , and never have not done ? surley the accounts been defaulted from the orinigal agreement somewhere along the line for Triton to have become involved ?0

I agre with DGJsaver,
if you have been making reduced payments then it will get passed on
If you've been paying your contractual amounts, then it shouldn't have been passed onPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBT NERD #869

Just to clarify.
I took the loan out in August 2004 and the agreed payment was £223.68 a month for 7 years.
I have continued to pay that amount each month without fail.
My credit file shows the account is up to date, and even the yearly statements from RBS shows the account is up to date. I have NEVER defaulted or been late with payment. If anything...they get the payment a week early.
I use a solicitor for other matters not related to this, and he has sent a letter on my behalf.;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)0 -
What reason did rbs use when they told you they had transferred the account to triton ?0
-
why was the account passed to them if you were/are not in arrears? You need to find this out0

It sounds like an error on the part of RBS but there is a real danger here that Triton will rip up the agreement and start sticking on charges and interest and you will end up paying more.
You should contact RBS and make a formal complaint. Add that your solicitor is already invoved and you will be sending RBS the bill.

Actually, here's a silly thought. If you pay a week early did they take one months as an extra payment for the month before and then thought you paid late the following month? Its the sort of stupidity banks go in for.
