Thought I would start a discussion and rack a few brains.
Is it better to use your savings to pay off your mortgage on your home and become mortgage free
OR
invest that money in further property to gain a return

Hi
Personally I would want to be mortgage free. But that's a personal preference. I don't want to get into BTL, certainly not at the moment, because of the hassle and also I don't think you'd get a good return. Mind you, I don't know much about it, hence why I prob don't want to get into it.
I've had my house nearly 3 years and by next Aug, I'll have paid a quarter off my mortgage (£25k) which I think is a great acheivement.
Roll on being mortgage free or trading upwards!

depends on the BTL market in your area .
