Yes, when are you off lir? How much time do you have left with us before the big day and - more importantly - how long do you think it will be before you can return? :A0 -

Please, please get a dongle whilst you decide.
If we are allowed to take our MSE hats off for a minute and forget chopping and changing each provider everytime there is a deal on the horizon and not worrying about whether its 95p or 99p at the end of eery £ sign. And quality and consitency is as important as saving pennies. Then:
Decide on your TV and work backwards.
If you (or more likely OH) has to have Sky then its easier to go with BT line, Sky TV, Sky broadband and Sky calls.
If you don't have a sports fanatic in the house but like your HD and your in a cable area, then go Virgin line, virgin TV and virgin broadband (but flutter your eyelashes and try and get an independent broadband not running from the back of the set top box.). If your not in a cable area forget virgin.
If you want some TV but aren't that excited, then go BT phone line, BT calls, BT TV offering and BT broadband.

Dear dearest Lady Treliac, one was putting it on, rest assured I do not speak like them. Good Lord....(shakes head misgivingly..then wanders off to cut a final slice of that delicious M&S Lemon Drizzle cake...)"If you are going through Hell, keep going" - Winston Churchill0 -
What! Are you mad woman? Surely just a glance through this site should get you the package you need - telephone, broadband and 200 channels of absolute mind numbing recycled crap. Plus the Ocean Finance channel in HD.
You would be sorely missed I think by the odd person on here, although I would obviously try to carry on - stiff upper lip and all that.
Darling, the sheer variety adds to the confusion. I like plus net and some other thing. We don't need tv package...but then dh says maybe we should have tv i its a few quid more, then I say no, because I'd only really be interested in films, and dh says, but thats just a little bit more...and I point out that a little plus a little equals a sizable extra cost...and the conversation ends and we still haven't decided.
Electricity thankfully, was easierand we have finally decided what to do with sewage (treatment centre rather than tank). Its just the phone/net really now.
moving...its going to take a while, the first lump f stuff...from storage, which is why we are trying to get as much out of the house into the storage before hand, is two days after we complete. the haymaking being a movable feast confuses things...no set dates. I'll move in I think with the stuff from storage, and the chickens, but not the cats or dogs I don't think. will have a lot of driving because can't move horses until the grass has recovered from the cut. I think actually moving will take about 4-6 weeks. Coming back here in autumn for some plants though.
I'll be back I should imagine , and of course, if not here would certainly drop in t'other place. but I can't see why I wouldn't come back0 -

See I'm lost allready....not interested in chopping changing either, aybe a bi annual review, just a fair good deal though. We had a good one in London.
Internet is main thing. calls to dh second. we also make some international calls, but can keep doing that through skype. I'm considering giving up mobile, just getting a cheap PAYG sim, and dongle...I've decided not too. I'm going to be really busy and also, money will be tight next month or two. I'm going to write my diary for Carolt in breaks instead.
Hardest thing will be getting used to talking to DH less often.:o0 -

Okay.... forgiven
Answer me one question though please - How can you cut a final slice of a cake? A final slice being the last one... you don't need to cut it. Or do you mean a final slice for tonight?0 -

Depends on what international calls you do but the post office phone line is great. Free calls at the weekend to 40 international destinations.
If you can get o2 llu, then swap your payg to o2 and they have the best service and speed reliability. Emails answered, issues resolved, it's like a dream team.
We don't pay for any tv, except that OH gets a free satellite and even that is mostly for football and some stuff from sky. We use tvcatchup a lot.
If getting a dongle, think 3 is the best service as you get the proper 3g speed, not the slow dial up one (but you should ask pasturesnew for that)
Good luck packing and moving. I know the feeling of moving somewhere permanent instead of planning the next move so it'll be nice. Enjoy it
And remember I want to play with chainsaw0
