I have just recently been referred here, i have a joint account which is a joint account with my wife and this will be in debit by the time I declare BR for myself next Wednesday. I am wondering if I should delay my court date until the bank has process the removal of my wife from the account.

Additionally I have a Credit Card with £3K+ debt with the Halifax, and although the statements arrive in my sole name my wife is an additional card holder. I can not pay of the £3K anytime soon. Will this impact my wife badly or is this nothing to worry about.

any help would be appreciated.

    any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for this. However will her credit rating be impacted if she is a joint account holder? lets say even if I manage to clear the debt in that account before the BR filing?

Thanks, the CC is in my name, and it will be included in the BR.

You should not try and clear that debt, otherwise it will be seen as preferring one creditor over another.

Thanks, my income and the next benefits payment that I receive still go into this account. There may be a chance that the moment the BR is made official that the account could be in credit. This all depends on the timing and how things go with the OR interview and when they will close the account. If this happens I could keep the joint account in positive. Would this still impact her credit file?
