Attractions/Restaurants in Kelso area

Hi,

Me and OH are taking the oldies away for a few days and will be staying in Kelso area. Can anyone recommend nice pubs/restaurants that do traditional fayre, e.g. steak pie?

Also, anything worth visiting in the area?

    Racecourse, Ednam Arms Hotel, rugby ground, salmon river, golf course, Floors Castle, close to part of the Southern Upland Way. Lots of famous small towns & villages nearby such as Melrose, Galashiels, Hawick, Selkirk, Jedburgh.
    Eildon Hills, Ruberslaw Hill, Cheviot Hills, Abbotsford (Sir Walter Scott's House).

    There's a cafe/restaurant in Jedburgh called Simply Scottish that's definitely worth a visit.
