Today I had to have a difficult conversation with my bank (for my secondary account). The result was that all relationships with First Direct would cease (Current Account and 2 Savings Accounts) and the balance due on my overdraft (-£431.13) would be payable at £10/mth.
I left the call with a huge lump in my throat, and a sense of despair as I'm ashamed to have gotten into such a financial mess.
I thought I'd update my MSE Auto-Signature to try and give me clarity on the situation but there is too much to list....
Since recognising my so called 'Challenge' way back in December 2008, I have to be honest and say that it's been a mix of great success and shameful pitfalls. The end result is that I actually owe more now (by c£2000) than I did back then.
Mostly due to my foolish lack of provisioning for Income Tax which I now have a bill for (c£3500).
Here is the picture... suppose I'd better try to rectify before my wife finds out.
I'm fortunate that (hopefully) in March I'll get a bonus at work of c£2k gross and I have some additional work coming up in the summer which should pay good, but I do have a holiday booked for Cyprus which I need to pay for and have spending money too.
Maybe I should tell my wife afterall
