Next VIP Sale Wording?

I have just placed an order with Next and on the final confirmation page it lists the benefits of being an account holder. Nothing unusual there but the last benefit is being able to shop in the VIP sale. I am sure this was never advertised before and certainly gives the impression that every account holder gets a VIP invitation!!

Have they finally sorted it out to make it fair? Basically it would mean the online sale starts earlier than the instore sale.

Could be wrong and they are using very clever wording to entice more people to sign up for an account but I do numerous online shops a year and never noticed this before

The way I look at it, it doesn't say that you are guaranteed a VIP slot, just that you are eligible for a slot.

:mad:I have been a Next Directory account holder for years and only been offered the VIP sale once, and it isn't great either. Alot of the stuff I didn't end up getting as they had upto 6 weeks delivery date and when it got to the date their was either a further delay or out of stock. Total pants get down to the store instead, only reason why I have a Directory Card!:mad:

Totally agree that is what it probably means,BUT imagine you are a new customer and have never heard of (and therefore not gone through the agony of ) a VIP sale. It reads like every account holder gets to "Shop the sale Early" Very naughty I think. "A Chance to shop the sale early" is a lot clearer and fairer if they are keeping it the the same as previous sales.

Won't be long for the spring sale, sometime at the end of March I think.

Aww I hope regular customers manage to get a slot. I tend to buy from them at least once a month and usually get a slot but I know others do too and don't manage to secure one. Everyone make sure you're signed up for e-mail offers too as I think this helps.

I've just placed £1100 order for baby stuff with them (not for me, but for my friends abroad) so wonder whether I get picked....?

Oh yes, of course I did!

I know it's loads, isn't it? To be fair there is 5 of them who all join together (also cheaper to cover the delivery charges to them) and order only occassionaly (2 or 3x a year).

But this is the first time I opened an account (then I can have it send straight to shipper) for it as it looks like they will be doing it again, so I am also hoping we get picked for the VIP sale!
