HSBC Tracker @1.99 above base

Not sure whether this is the right place to post but we have just changed our mortgage from Northern Rock standard variable (had to wait until we had our business accounts for this year) to a HSBC tracker at 1.99 above base for life with no get out fee. There is a £999 arrangement fee but we are saving that each month with the reduction in mortgage payments. What a winner!

If there is anyone looking for a good deal, this might be the one for you.

I got that one when it was +2.24% the new rate is even better, although max 60% LTV. You can switch any of their fixed deaks at any point too, I can't remember if there are any fees associated though.
  • We now bank with HSBC and if you have a premier account with them you can get the same deal on 75%LTV.

How much is your mortgage and what rate were you on before if you are saving that much money a month??

You obviously dont have to tell me, i am just interested, your previous payment must have been huge.

Does anyone know if HSBC considers non status on this tracker mortgage. We need a LTV of approx 25% and have been HSBC customers for 20 years. Our existing mortgage is with N & P and has about 12 years left to run.

Do you mean if HSBC will consider you if you are self employed? My OH and I are both self employed (accounts stretching back many years) and we got a mortgage with HSBC - but they dug around in our bank accounts in a pretty forensic manner, calling us up about a number of payments in/out. But they don't offer self-cert as far as I'm aware.
