Credit Score/Search
Right a bit of background first, 8 years ago l defaulted on a load for about 6 months but then paid it off in full. When l decided to change mortgage lenders l sent of for my credit report. The loan was still showing on there and also a default from a catalogue. I phoned the company because the default was wrong and they admitted it shouldn't have been on there and they would get it removed. l also wrote to Experian to have them both removed.
So since then l have had a new mortgage (with Nationwide) a loan and about 3 or 4 new cards as l like to shift my balance and a new bed on finance. I havent been turned down for anything or made one late payment.
I decided to get a loan for a new kitchen and after shopping around decided to have a mortgage advance over the same time as a loan but for a slighty better rate.
Popped in the Nationwide started going through the form and got to the credit search which listed everything you have so they can see all, it was really wierd seeing it all done in front of me. I came up as 01 risk which is the best you can have (she said) but with it was note about a dispute !!!!!!!!! I told her about the catalogue saga and she asked me to bring in my letter. She said it was nothing to worry about as there was nothing wrong on my score at all. I found my letter but it really points to having the loan default removed although it doesn't clearly state this.
I took all this in and she said it had to be referred to head office !!!!!!!!!!!! and this could take up to 3 weeks. Do i have anything to worry about.
Another that came up was my Tesco card which lm now using for all my shopping for the points, it had last months balance added to this months balance which makes it look like l owe a fair whack of money, she did say these took a while to update   so what use is that.
I hate all this, what if they turn me down

If you are an 01 risk then other lenders will assist you even if Nationwide won't.0

Have you actually seen a copy of your credit file recently, it may be that the original account information has been updated by the catalogue, but the notice of dispute remains.
until you see your file you will not be able to correctly ascertain if this is this issue or not:rolleyes: It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0 -
No not since the one where l noticed the error 2 years ago. As l have had no problem getting a new mortgage, loan, credit cards and finance l assumed that everything was ok, why would it suddenly show up know. I could see everything l have live or otherwise and this came up as a seperate item. Very strange.0

Thanks Kev, l have to stay and wait now as part of the deal is that if accepted l have to take it of pay an admin fee of a fair old amount. Im not so much as in a rush as just I hate the waiting and not being 100%.
I sympathise with your situtation, i think its appaling that stuff isnt updated quicker and the catalogues seem to have their own rules. Lets hope we both get sorted out0
