Perfume stopped squirting

I got some lovely perfume as a gift for christmas, and have been using it almost daily since then, till yesterday when it simply stopped squirting. I have tried disassembling it but although the silver atomiser(?) comes off the top of the bottle is sealed. The mechanics of it look like they are working, I can see the tiny spring moving up and down when I press down but nothing is coming out. I attempted to give it a clean but again no joy.

Any ideas how I can get it working again?

It's very annoying when this happens. Apart from getting some pliers round it I don't know what to suggest, so try here on the forums...

I don't know why the perfume companies cannot make a screw top atomiser as standard.

was it a small bottle of less than 30ml - if so are you sure that the contents are all finished ie the bottle is dark so you can't see or the bottle is to heavy to judge (sorry but as i didn't read this in your query thought i'd still ask :) )

how about putting the tip of the bottle in some warm water for awhile then trying. or putting the whhttp://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1077623&highlight=successes+by+letterole bottle in warm water and spraying a bit under water. -maybe the cold weather could have clogged the spray bit. or how about taking the button bit of the atomiser and washing it in warm water to clear it if its blocked.

other than that you could write to the perfume company and mention that having only used it a few times the atomiser is not working. i think i remember reading a post here (i'll find link later ) in successes/failures of complaints

    - where someone did a complaint and got a new bottle of perfume from the company...
  • Yes I have used very hot water as well, if it is just damaged you will have to get an atomiser.

This happened to one of my bottles when I dropped it. Something inside became disconnected. Any chance someone could have dropped it without telling you?

As others have suggested, I'd give the actuator nozzle a good clean with hot (fairy liquid;)) soapy water and use a tooth brush to gently scrub the tiny hole.

Let us know how you get on.

This happened to me funnily enough on 2 big EDP from Jean Paul Gautier - the ones with the woman's shape :(
When i called them, they said how did they know i had not bought rip-offs from the market?, are they having a laugh at the prices they charge!!
As they were gifts, in the end i got a big strong friend to pull the metal tops off & put them into some stopper top glass perfume bottles i picked up cheaply from Boots - what a palava!!
Did you buy them/have a receipt?
No one said it was gonna be easy!

Sorry it has taken me so long to update with this one, I have cleaned it etc etc and it still won't work I have tried everything I can think of.

So I want to write to them to complain but I can't find an address, on the bottom of the bottle (threw away the box unfortunately), it says Designer Fragrances, NS11 9AP which looks like a post code. However I can't seem to find the rest of the address can anyone help?
