New composite filling, sharp edge?

Options
Hi, I have a root filled molar, which the filling recently cracked (small bit off the buccal aspect, it just felt rough with my tongue) and so I have just had it redone. (original one done approx 15 years ago, no probs up til now)
The dentist said I may need to have a crown but that we would try conservatively first with a new filling. I elected to have composite because I have always had these rather than amalgam. This was done yesterday, and I paid £80 or £85 for the composite filling (on top of NHS charge of £16ish)
Now this evening, it feels like I have a sharp ridge on my tooth, on the occlusal surface, which feels really odd. I have looked in the mirror and I have composite covering the entire occlusal surface of the tooth except for a very straight line where you can see my tooth. I'm not sure if it was like this yesterday as I didn't look in the mirror, but I certainly don't remember it feeling so sharp yesterday
Is it likely the filling has cracked? Would they repair this or does it mean I will have to have a crown (and would the £80 odd I paid privately for the filling count towards the cost of a private tooth coloured crown?) I will ring the dentist tomorrow to talk to them, but in the meantime if anyone has any ideas that would be good.

I think you just need to get back to a dentist who can look at it.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
