Bryan Carter & Co - Help Needed

I have been paying Bryan Carter and Co £15 a month towards a debt for about 2 years, I have now noticed that the amount coming out of my bank account has increased to £18.90. I have not agreed to this. Are they allowed to do this? I thought there was a direct debit guarantee?

Also does anyone have a number for them that actually works, I cant find one anywhere!

Direct debits are allowed to be changed, but I believe they should notify you of changes before they happen.
For that reason a standing order is usually recommended over a direct debit (you might want to consider changing for future).

Have you had any recent paperwork from BC? does anything say that the amount will be changing?

I rang Bryan Carter who had no record of this debt, they told me to call Weybridge who also knew nothing of this debt. I have a letter from Bryan Carter dated Oct 09 with a statement of payments in the last 12 months, with a reference number but they cannot trace it anywhere.

It isnt on the system yet they are taking my money, I think a proof of debt letter may need to be sent.
