dyslexia tests in northern Ireland??

Thanks for all your replys. I have since had my son professioally tested and he is indeed dyxlexic(whis i knew already). He is already at a fab High school in County Antrim and I have only good things to say about the school (the opposite can be said for the PS...terrible school). The test cost me £180 and took about 3hrs, with a 10 page report that came shortly afterwards. I really wanted my son 'in the school system' sort of laying foundations for the future for him. The Dyslexic Centre were not helpful as no one came back to me other than "I think I can get someone for your son...in Londonderry". I would have travelled to the end of the world for the accessment , but phoneing me the night before and saying the test was £380, and can you come tomorrow? when I was then able to get the same test for £180...taking the pi** is what I thought. My suggestion is to go through the school, then the NEELB or whatever board you are on to find someone. Keep pestering the system and you will get therer...I did!!
Maybe we should get a 'help line' started up as I guess there are more parents with kids out there, that could do with the help. and also kids that are being overlooked by the Primary school...as my son was.....he is a changed boy since leaving PS....a happier boy and confidence growing.
