Hi All!
I'm James, and I'm brand new here! I started getting the newsletter, and then browsing the forum, then I decided I should get involved
. It's my 21st birthday soon, and I want to get my debts sorted, and get my !!!! in gear, before they get out of control.
A little background. I'm a bank cashier and I live with my parents in East Yorkshire. I love my life, but I have to start cutting down, pay off debts and start saving, because I want my own place!
I earn £12,500 a year, soon to rise to £13,500. I have current debts of approximately £1,700. I realise this is not a mega debt, nor am I drowning like many others here. However, I need to myself sorted, so that's why I'm here.
I'm planning to go through my incomings and outgoings with a fine toothcomb (what is the best way to do this?), and would appreciate any tips and tricks you wonderful people can give me
.
So, long story short... Hi! Hope to speak to you soon

Hi James,
Welcome on board. Numpty's given you the most important tips when starting to take control of your finances. The statement of affairs link he has given is a really good starting point, once its all written down in black and white you will probably spot some things straight away that you can change, then post the results on here and the rest of us will make some more suggestions.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
