Full Time Volunteering

Does anyone have any experience of full time volunteering?

I know there are organisations out there that deal with this. Has anyone done this themselves or know someone who has?

I can imagine it's very rewarding but also great for possibly gaining experience for possible future jobs.

Hey, part time volunteering is just as effective, in fact any volunteering will help.
As for volunteering full time, sure you can do that, at CAB (which always springs to mind) or a charity shop also but bear in mind you have to be actively looking for ft paid work if you are claiming JSA.

If you are 16-25 years old, there's a full time volunteering scheme called v-talent year, for people who want to work with children/young people but it's only being piloted in certain areas.

Best option is part time volunteering so you still have time to search for paid work / do your job / bring up kids etc
