Hi all, i own a domain name called dressmeplease.co.uk we orgionally bought it to run a second hand clothes shop online mainly baby clothes, very cheap stock so good prices for customers. My hubbie is a website programmer so it would have been a very good website. FOr one reason and another we didnt get around to doing it. Im pregnant & i have a 1 year old and to be honest im bored & need somethng to get my teeth in too. Do you think there would be a market for this? i know people use ebay but i plan to do alot of marketing, selling on ebay & putting in a buisness card etc, flyers, ads. I really want to make a go of it but i dont want to plough the only spare cash we hve in to something thats rubbish lol xx

You could try the idea out at any local mummy & baby groups. Chat to the members, see if it is something they would use, informal market research. Do these items sell on ebay? compare selling prices to your cost to buy a similar item. Remember to factor in p&p and look up H&S issues selling second hand baby clothes. Are there any legal issues if a kiddy gets injured by your clothes? Do you need insurance? Factor in cost of returning items (distance selling regulations) people will buy to try them and with clothes you will get a lot of returns (think catalogue sales).
Who will run the website / deliveries while you having the baby? Can you compete with local charity shops when you factor in the cost of p&p?
