I have been married to my husband for nearly four years, but unfortunately he has been in debt for the whole time although now we have nearly paid it off. However, sadly, the marriage has suffered and we are considering divorce. In the time that we have been married, my husband has refused to put me on the mortgage, he bought the house before we were married and even though I have contributed to the bills and living costs and have a full time job and have helped him pay 31K debt off, he always says no and this is his house. I am not sure what my rights are and don't want to so anything til I have a good idea. can anyone help please.

    Every situation is different.

You must get legal advice on this matter.

He thinks by not putting you on it, you are not entitled to anything think again!! Now start digging out the evidence of you supporting the debt repayments. Hate to be harsh but it might help you, it sounds like he used you to pay off his debts, now screw him for everything you can, don't forget you can have half his pension fund as well!!
