My aim is to get out of my overdraft between now and May so I will try to save £500.00 each month and thats it cleared. I am just scared about living and also CC's after baby is born.0

You need to check how much the Local Housing Allowance will be for you now and for you with a child - and look for somewhere in that price range now. Once you are on SMP your rent will be paid.
You need to check on the maternity support grants that you may be able to get. And on how much Child Tax Credit/Working Tax Credit you can get later.
Based on this, I will need to move once SMP kicks in and Mum wants me out before then. The form could also take weeks to go through.0 -
Hi Lucy, just wanted to say congrates on the baby
they do bring so much joy when they arrive
now onto your problem and i just have a couple of questions
is there any reason why your mum 'is' going to kick you out?
are you 'with' the father or seperated/never together properly,
are you in contact with your dad? and could he take you in (sorry assuming your mum and dad are seperated going on your comment of your mum kicking you out and not your parents kicking you out)
i dont wish to upset you however it would help us a little if we know a bit more depth to your situation, of course if you do not want to say that is fine
other thoughts are a house share or if someone is after a lodger, ok these might not be great solutions becuase of having a new baby but are options
anyways as always a SOA would help us try and help you, and the entitled to website would be great place for you to find out some details
also check out the local freecycle/freegle for baby things for free, also look at signing up for companies baby clubs for some other freebiesDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
There is no space at home anymore and Mum wants me to move out before the baby comes along. Simple as that I am afraid. With father but he has problems at home, can not leave so I will be living alone.0

You will manage, when your a mum it just `happens`

Regarding your cc`s you could call and arrange repayment plans with them, or seek professional help to get this plan sorted out!
Stop the cards and cut them up!!
Your midwife will beable to help regarding housing, they are very supportive and may beable to advise further on what to do.
I think you need to place yourself on the council list now, and then when baby is born update the information for the council to be housed. Local authorities won`t take baby into account until it is born and they see birth certificate!
Could your OH not try and get things sorted out so he cam help, may be an idea to sit down and discuss this together?DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

I had a friend who was in a similar situation. The council won't rehouse you until you are homeless - and normally having made yourself homeless, you will have to spend time in a homeless shelter until a place can be found (upto a year depending on the area). This will not be pleasant (I think the aim is to put anyone but the most destitute and desperate off - quite right too), but you normally have to do it to leapfrog the list to get a council flat. Once you have 'done your time' in a shelter, then you get a choice of flat (I say 'choice'....that will depend again on your area and what is available at the time...).
My friend had a horrible time in the shelter but now has a really lovely little house and is very happy with her son there, and is getting her life back together. Hope it goes well for you!0 -
since you are with the father could you consider renting a flat with him if he works of course, however as everyone has said you will find away it will seem hard at times but it will be worth itDrop a brand challenge

Just wanted to send a cyber hug so to speak. Babies are wonderful and I am sure in the end things will work out.
Don't forget the health in pregnancy grant, another £190 you can claim at wk 25 of your pregnancy. Every bit you can get will help.
good luck
