I posted a request for the paper from the relevant date on my local city forum and also local freagle and freecycle sites. I got replies from all. Its worth a try and you've got nothing to loose. Just have to be prepared to go and collect it. Small price to pay IMO.
  • has anyone been to the brum one and been charged extra (forgot to ask when booked) and I have quite long hair and considering more than 1" off!

    Had my hair done today.
OK but the style didn't last and looked a bit of a mess within a few hours. Not sure I would pay the £44 full price...

    Afraid I have to agree.
I assume this is an offer for Saks to try and get new clients - I will not be one of them.
When I had my hair done, the girl took HALF the time I usually need with my regular hairdresser.
Very few products used on my hair.
Usually when they put conditioner on, it is massaged into the hair, and even combed through.
At Saks she spent longer rubbing her hands together to distribute the conditioner first, than she did spreading it through my hair.
She smeared it over the surface of my wet hair, then removed her hands - I thought to grab a comb.
No, she grabbed the tap and proceeded to rinse the conditioner off - about 5 seconds after smearing it on !!!

Although the cut and end result was OK, I certainly wouldn't be tempted to pay full price.
Acceptable as a "trim", but I am seriously disappointed.
  • I had the last saks offer with the notw. After she finished quickly cutting it I asked could you dry it bouncy please, with lots of volume?. No I think I'm going to dry it straight she replied! :rotfl:

I had my hair done at SAKS Basildon yesterday, it was a bit of a difficult place to find, but...........
    I was really impressed:j
He was there on his own as other staff were training, so running behind schedule.
He cut more than a foot off in one fell swoop:eek:
then went on to style it, exactly as I had asked.
Having had very long hair for most of my adult life, I wasn't going to let just anybody cut it off, they have to 'feel' right. Many times before, I have ended up with just a trim as my confidence in the hairdresser dissapears whilst I am watching them.
So I was very pleased that this one listened, now I have a fabulous style, and i will definately go back.
Only used the voucher, no extra to pay, apart from a good tip of course.

Yes that was what I had - wet cut, and blow dry.

Have to say I was really impressed with mine, the girl doing it sat with me for 10 minutes asking about the state of my hair and what I wanted to do with it, before giving it a wash, lovely head massage with the conditioner and drying it just the way I had asked. She also suggested other things I could do with it so I was really impressed :D
