£600 million savings at the BBC.

Pretty impressive cost cutting. Where do I get my tax refund? Must be about £20 per household? Or it could be offset against the impending broadband tax. Must be plenty more savings to be had at the bloated BBC. After all there is a recession, and we have all had to make cutbacks at work.

What they have said is that they are going to use this 600million to pay for UK produced quality comedy and drama instead of buying crap from America.

Most people enjoyed watched Tv on a 12inch portable, maybe a 21inch colour etc etc.

Do these things improve our enjoyment of the TV... sadly I actaully think they dont. We just beleive they do.

£140 a year and a freeview box is far better value than anything Sky can offer (1000 channels of pure rubbish).

Not sure about the US coverage but Kerry Packer beat Sky to it by 15 years in changing the coverage of Sport. I would say though that about from the really massive events, the BBC's coverage of sport is dreadful.

I would disagree there.

I cant watch sky as it looks more like a one armed bandit with flashy lights than sport. If people beleive that more gaudy the colours are, the better it is, I dont.

I do not watch the BBC but I still pay £140 a year to avoid being sent to prison. At least with Sky you do not have to pay for it if you do not watch it. For those that love the present BBC let them pay for it. Before someone harps on about it's great past I totally agree but for some years I do not think it has enough good shows to warrent living off the past........ most of which they wiped and would stay missing if not for the cash in VHS and now DVD's.

Some of the Nature stuff they do now is very, very good in HD.
