Renting a Garage

Hi,
I have a large (almost double) sized, secure garage with lighting, electricity and a tap. I've seen a few ad's for people looking for this type of thing to carry out light commercial work - such as car spraying. Paying approx £150 a month.
This kinda cash would come in use and I don't use the garage myself. Before taking further, I wondered if I might be opening myself up to problems. Do I need to notify anyone or take out extra insurance for this kind of thing? This is aside from any noise or nuisance value caused to neighbours.
Thanks

You may have problems with the council if it is being used for business and insurance will go up.0

You may need permission from the council, your insurance company, your mortgage company and it may annoy your neighbours. So it is not easy.
Renting it to a private individual for keeping their car in or for classic car storage, for example, would be ok.
PS - I am looking for a garage to store my camper and Cortina - you are not in Southampton are you?0 -
Renting for private parking would be better than getting into business use. Have a look at http://www.parkatmyhouse.co.uk/A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
