    Yet more confirmation of the recovery continuing apace.


    Not only that consumer confidence is increasing and recruitment in the private sector is picking up too.

    All good news for all of us.

    I think whatever we are, bulls, bears or neither, we can all rejoice in the news coming out at the moment for the wider economy (no, Hamish, I do not want a 90% crash in house prices !!!!!!!).

    I see most house builders in the UK have now kicked off projects following a year of doing absolutely nothing. This isn't limited to completing projects they mothballed; this includes starting a lot of new major projects.

    House builders are the barometer of the market. The next couple of quarters will see quite a bit of growth again in the construction industry and knock a bit off the unemployment figures.

    Ultimately, if they are going to make any money, house builders need to build and sell houses. Very low interest rates will be very helpful to them when it comes to financing land banks too.

    if i'm not mistaken Taylor Wimpey results/forecasted results aren't great, so not all house builders will be doing well... but i would buy their shares
