                    Hi Guys
How do I go about requesting an up to date balance from a creditor (Amex) after they have passed my account to a DCA (RMA Resolve).
I have already requested an up to date balance from RMA, but they have so far ignored my requests.
RMA are working on behalf of Amex and have not been sold the debt, although the letter I received from Amex did state that all correspondance should be sent to RMA.

Did you send the letter recorded and have you given them time to respond? Seems strange that they woulnd't have responded because it shows that you a) are the debtor (probably rare for them to find someone who wants to speak to them) and b) that you are requesting information about the debt that might prompt repayments.
I'm actually surprised that the original letter from the DCA didn't have the balance on it.0 -

Hi
Yes I did send the letter recorded delivery as I always do. I have been making payments to this company for the last 8 months, the original letter from them did have the balance showing, but obviousley it will be different now.
I just want to find out if any interest or charges have been added to my account since RMA took it over.DMP mutual support thread member:3270 -
            2 UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES
Communication
2.1 It is unfair to communicate, in whatever form, with consumers in an unclear,
inaccurate or misleading manner.
2.2 Examples of unfair practices are as follows:
e. failing to provide debtors or creditors with information on status
of debts, for example, not providing requested balance statements when
reasonably requested
