Intellegent Finance - NOT!

If you are considering a loan then DON'T use Intellegent Finance. :eek: I have recently had a very bad experience because of an error in the set up of my direct debit with if.com. I received a telephone call from the Collections Office, the caller was confrontational, aggressive and accusational, suggesting that I was refusing to pay the first payment of £50. I rang my bank to establish the problem (HSBC - very helpful) and then rang the Collections Dept at IF to explain what had happened. Yesterday I received a bill for £20. £10 for their telephone call and £10 for a letter sent telling me that I owed them £20! I rang the Collections office again and explained from the beginning. The attitude of the people working there seems to be that all customers are to be treated with contempt. Its not the money that is the issue here, but the manner of the staff.

Actually loans are dealt with by Halifax and therefore I'd assume their staff and not IF's who are very helpful and polite.

You are right about that, but apparently Halifax and Intellegent Finance are the same company. Having said that the people I dealt with at IF were very helpful and polite, it was the collection department who were so awful and treated me as though I were a criminal.

i am staff for HBOS - the collections department can be rude to staff too who are trying to help customers !!!
