Quick question if anyone can help please. What exactly is the difference between the nintendo ds and the nintendo lite.

    Thank you
  • DS lite is about 60 grams lighter and and about 1/3 smaller. It also has brightness and contrast control. The DS standard does not.

The DS lite is basically the same as the nintendo DS. It plays the same games, etc BUT

    it's smaller
    it's lighter
    it has a brighter/better screen
and you can change brightness etc to save battery life

the main difference between the DS and the DS lite is that the DS lite is:

    SMALLER
    It has a brighter screen
    and it's lighter

    and the question about Nintendogs:
There are 4 different versions, and each 1 features a different set of dogs:
Chiwawa and friends (sorry about spelling!)
    Labrador and friends
    Daschsund and friends
    Dalmation and friends

Thanks that is very helpful. My son wants one and he says he wants a blue ds and I was just wondering if i should get him to buy the lite (he is only 6) but from the look of it the normal one would be ok for him too. He wants to be able to come into my land in anmial crossing and I have a lite, will that still be possible if he has an old ds?

    thanks
  • Yes - the hardware inside is the same and definatley compatible. Ninty would upset a lot of users if they weren't cross compatible!!! :D
