Sole trader start up. Help needed.

    Thanks Plutoin, I like you will have very little outgoings so far they consist of my hosting package which is £4.70 per month (paid via paypal) and any domain names i purchase. So i should be able to keep it all tidy in one account. I could use my normal current account but i think for administrative purposes i should have something seperate.

    Thanks for all the help, incidentally, i found this software to help the running of a business. It was £70 so may be worth some of the other small S/E people having a look.

  • Where using your personal bank account is concerned there is a potential problem if you have a trading name, which sole traders sometimes do. If your clients make out cheques in the trading name, the bank may not accept them for your personal account. Direct transfers are always possible provided that you are happy to give your bank details. I use my own name with my clients, so have no such problem.

    I would not pay for any software, I do it all on spreadsheets. Again, this works because I am not running a real business.

    For myself whos wanting to be paid via paypal mostly for my t shirts, should i be ok with just my normal current account? Like the original poster im thinking , well initially, that my earnings will be low, but im not sure how it will go tbh:beer:
