who did you apply to, when and how ie online???

If it was online, it is usually an instant decision.
Jules, my advice also would be not to choose a company who you bank with, the reason being if you or your OH lost your jobs and had difficulty repaying your debts, the bank could and do take your money out of your account without your permisson, its called off-setting, perfectly legal, but very few no about it.
No-one should get credit cards/loans out with the company they bank with imo.
I know Jules you are no where near this stage, but other people read these threads too and the above is good advice for anyone to bear in mind if in debt and attempting to get a low apr card out to balance transfer.0 -

It was with Santander, as already have MBNA and Barclaycard, so they were the next best 0% deal. If i don't get a reply in the post after a week I'll ring and find out what's going on.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 2016

Jules, I would leave the money in the ISA then, its only £2.5K and it is not worth you and your OH fighting over it, it just means that you will pay a little more interest on your debts, but sometimes that better than having a really frosty few days if you upset the other half. Who knows, in a few months he may say to you, I have an idea? Why don't we use the money in the ISA to repay some of our debts, and you will say, thats a really good idea, why didn't I think of that:D0
