Defaults still showing after six years

Just checked my credit report on Equifax and two defaults are still showing. One of them was placed in March 2004 so that's understandable but the other is from January 2004 so I'd have thought that would have gone by now. Anyone know how long it takes for them to go from your report?

Also, do arrangments to pay on your credit report affect your credit score in any way?

    Hi :)

The one from Jan 2004 should have dropped off, email Equifax and ask them to remove it.

An AP will affect your credit worthiness, it will show potential lenders that you have not kept to a previous credit agreement.

Thanks - I'll email Equifax if the defaults haven't gone by the time the free trial is up.

If your using the free trial be careful that you do cancel or you will be charged. Some have had some trouble with money being taken out and also trouble cancelling!

Just looked again and the January default was recorded on 3/3/4 so it should disappear after tomorrow.

Am I okay to cancel anytime during the 30 days?

Yes, just make sure you cancel before the 30 days is up
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
