Dont give up hope, ive been through some horrendous times and thought there was no light at the end of the tunnel, but there is, you just have to keep going and belive things will turn out ok in the end
As for the car I know its not the best solution but maybe you should let it go, when your on your feet buy a banger,I run about in an old X reg,it gets me about and I dont care if its old and rusty, its paid for
My OH had one repossesed and the stress of keeping repayments was awful
Sort council tax out, arrange to pay a little because they will take you to court and it can get nasty with costs adding up.Just ring and try to sort small token payments for now,to keep them off your back and give you breathing space

Surely you can claim something you carnt be expected to live on fresh air, go to CA and make sure there is nothing you can do
If you are desperate you can get a crisis loan for living expences, even if you are not recieving benefits but it has to be paid back in small amounts, no intrest

That was not on, giving you job and then trailing someone else, do you think MD was being sexist
My OH had similar when he started his present job ,his boss had also asked someone else to come in 'for the expeience', now they carnt do without OH and he more or less runs everything

Keep your chin up even though its hard,at least you have everyone here to bounce ideas off or convide in, it does help Hope things turn in your favour soon

  • Munchki - speechless, life sux a bit doesn't it! I know you have heard it before, but you have got to start believin it, things really can't get much worse, so logic says the only way is up.

Was the job only given to the other person because he was a friend of the MD or because he was male?? Don't want to insinuate anything, but if everyone was supporting you and you were there for 2 days, really can't see any other reason for them to give the job to someone else. Also, did you agree to a free trial, or were you paid for the 2 days? There was an article on the local news recently where a company told someone they had the job, he worked one day and they never called him or gave him anymore shifts. End result was public apology and pay for the day that he did work. Even if it is only £50, you still earned it.

Loan on the car, well, thanks to OH, I know a lot about rules regarding debt. Dispite the fact that the loan is secured to the car, the procedure they have to follow is, first, send a baillif round to talk to you to discuss repayment, 7 days later, if no payment plan has been arranged, then they can come round and take the car for reposession. However, in light of circumstances, they will prob accept a reduced rate of payment installments, and from the first day that the bailliffs recieve your account all interest charges are frozen, so the only increase you will get will be the £24 fee for the baillif turning up. Best bet is to call the loan company and explain the situation, they will usually get you to fill out a means statement, as long as you can prove you are as broke as you say you are, they will have to accpet a min payment of £5 per month until you find a job. FSA rules. Same rules apply for the outstanding council tax, they are easier to deal with though, trust me I know! Get in touch with the council it is owed to though, not the bailliffs. The council will accept £3 per month as long as you direct debit it. Don't hide from that one, the councils bailliffs are pitbulls, however the lady in the arrears dept is human and suseptable to waterworks.

The next one you may not want to answer. But are you happy with the mechanic? If you are then great, but I really did mean what I said, can't get much cheaper than Lowestoft, every other shop is a 99p shop (thats right, poundland is expensive!) I have a spare room (full of books but can easily be cleared). ok, so its not Scotland, but it wasn't an empty offer.

Lastly, cyber hugs aren't enough really, but ((((((hugs)))))))) can't do anything else from here xx

    Afternoon everyone,

Just been having a bit of a catch up.
Not a lot to say really, I was back at hospital this morning and the increased dose of warfarin I'm on has worked. Blood now is far too thin and I run the risk of hemorraging (spelling?)
    Munchki - hugs
    Jo - love the blog.
I'm going to be spending most of the night getting listings ready for this weekend's free listings on eBay.
I saw the preloved banner on your blog Jo and was wondering if anyone uses this as an alternative to eBay as itsays listings are free, anyone had any success?
