Tesco/Texaco loyalty cards

Please forgive me if this is the wrong forum to post this question in.
Currently I do not have a Tesco club card. My question is should I get one and do i really need one? I normally get my lunch from Tesco as it is the only store within walking distance of work during my lunch break. So the majority of my purchases come to under £5. Is it worth having their card?
My journey to work is aprx 10 miles and living in quite a rural area there is only one fuel station that i pass and this where i normal buy my fuel. Should i use the Texaco loyalty card and colect their points? The only ther place I could purchase fuel without going miles out of my way would be tesco's. The only draw back there would mean driving the car for 1/2 mile each way in my break and using more fuel.
What suggestions can you make?
Cheers

my personal solutions - if you really want to save money -
get both cards
buy petrol at whichever place is selling it cheapest and use your card
make your lunch at home and dont buy lunches from tesco.0 -
they have the clubcards instore either on the customer service desk or as the checkout operator - they have temporary card which you can ring freephone and register they will send a permanent on and you get a keyring card which is handy for when you get petrol.
Did u know you can also use clubcard vouchers to pay for petrol alot of people seem to think you can only use them instore.i'm living in a parallel universe0 -

Im going to save any clubcard vouchers towards xmas - can this be done or is there a time limit in which you have to spend them?

and if you are saving for a large purchase and want to keep the vouchers for more than two years, Tesco will take the vouchers back and re-issue the points to you.
You need to ring them to sort it out, but they are fairly easy-going about it.

Bearing in mind that you get 1 clubcard pont for each whole pound spent a £2.50 sandwich would earn you 2 points.
To earn enough points to get a "free" sandwich using the accrued points you would need to buy 125 sandwiches at a total cost of £312.50.
