honesty

I made the mistake of leaving my car unlocked for over 12 hours and with the front windows both down and my wife's purse and a gps unit in the glove box and I got a knock on the front door by 2 passing teenagers letting me know that i had left the windows open and the car was getting wet inside ( it was raining just a little bit )

Now I am not saying that I live in the best part of the city but did restore my faith in the human spirit of kindness as at any time someone could have got the lot and then I would been realy upset .

I have a habit of leaving my keys in the front door when I'm struggling to get shopping, small child etc inside. Sometimes I will remember but the number of times leaflet delivery people or random passing stangers (usually teenagers) have knocked on the door and handed them over is quite amazing!

Most people are actually honest - its the few that aren't that make us terminally suspicious - and it does us good to remember this!

A one time boss left my keys in the door of my very old BMW.When I went to go home they were missing.Next day car was found a couple of miles away having been joy ridden. The sump was smashed and it was written off.Poor old boss, really sorry about what happened.I didn`t have the heart not to tell him that I was well pleased as the car needed £100s spent on it and the insurance pay out was on £30 less than I paid for it!
