Housing Association Right to Aquire and getting a Mortagage

Hi everyone, my first post here, hoping someone may be able to help me please.

Right, where to start?!

My girlfriend and myself have decided to buy the house which she currently rents from a Housing Association (has done for 10 years, never been in trouble with the rent etc..)

Only problem is under the "Right to Aquire" scheme, a partner or other family member would have to have lived there for at least 12 months. Although we have been together for 5 years, I dont officially live there.

So, I need some advice as to what we can do? Would it be possible for her to buy the house but both of us get a mortgage or for her to get a mortgage and for me to be another source of income. I dont mind it being in her name.

Our salaries are as follows, mine is 20k my girlfriends is 16k. We have a 10% deposit.

Any help would be greatly apprieciated as we are both completely confused
