Hi all
Well I came home today from work to a letter which states that I was discharged early from BR on 8th Feb. Total of 6 months in bankruptcy.:j
I can't begin to tell you the relief I feel, It was so unexpected too.
Alot has happened to me since been declared bankrupt back in July. I put my house up for voluntary repossession back in Sept and it was sold 2 weeks ago (with a shortfall) point to note that I refused to sign anything as is often stated on here and trust me the advice is correct. In the end the mortgage company classed the property as abandoned which helped speed up the repossession process. The case didn't have to go to court.
The only thing now is that I'm still into an IPA for 3 years but I accept thats the price I have to pay for been debt free.
I want to thank everyone on here for the help and guidance as I went through this journey.
I'm going to be around for many months as I'll have to start the credit clean up in a couple of months time.

IPA - Income Payment agreement, if you have more income then you need to live a respectable life, the official receiver will ask for a proportion of it for 3 years.

scaredandskint, you don't have to go to court, but the case may be put before them.

Hi
No I meant in the case of a voluntary repossession it may go to court.
All I had to do was not make contact with my mortgage company for 2 weeks and after that period they gaining entry to put a notice in the window for 14 days. I've not heard from them since.0 -

Thanks, and for the first time I feel it is a fresh start. My only regret is that I didn't do it years ago.0 -
