All gone wrong with DMP

Am a newbie here and wonder if anyone has any advice about my situation that has all gone horribly wrong. Having buried my head in the sand for years about my mounting debt issues, being on maternity leave and coming into the unpaid part, I have been forced to confront the situation. Accordingly I applied to set up a dmp through CCCS. All was going well, so I thought.... However, all of my creditor accounts except for 2 are in my maiden name. I am happily married and intend to remain so, but just never got around to changing all of my creditor accounts as it isn't a legal requirement and I suppose there was an element of not wishing to drag my husbands name into my debt situation and also laziness (not wishing to keep sending marriage certificate away with the possibility that it would go missing in post etc).

When I registered for my dmp, I made it clear that all but 2 of my accounts were in my maiden name and this was backed up by the account statements that I returned in order for my proposals to be issued to creditors. There was no indication that this was a problem. However, it seems that all creditors have been contacted using my married name and, of course, this doesn't match the account numbers and they've all started jumping up and down and said can you contact us using the correct account name as we can't consider proposal until then.

I initially spoke to a very helpful chap at cccs who said he would re-issue proposals with the correct account name to relevant creditors. We spoke at length going through each account so that he had the correct information. However, am now receiving letters daily from cccs saying that creditor x y and z does not recognise account name and can I contact creditor to give correct information. Am not able to speak to the same person, but one has said that the proposals were re-issued correctly and others vary in their advice. Most recent advice was to send marriage certificate to all creditors and then cccs will reissue proposals. Given that there are 8 creditors, to send certificate to each of them and wait for it to come back is going to take at least 8 weeks (imagine the possibility for it to go missing, especially as my accounts are now being dealt with by Collections in most cases).

I am at my wits end and really wishing I hadn't even started with this. Can't get anyone now to confirm or deny if proposals actually went out again correctly. One creditor has written accepting proposal and don't mention a problem about the account name, so maybe the letters did go out, but I can't get any confirmation about this. Really stressed out and don't know what to do. :(

Bit of a side point but:

I sent copies of my marriage cert, not the original to change my name on accounts - I did things like faxed it to companies and sent it to some by post. So, if you do need to change the name you can probably avoid posting out your original certificate.

Hope this is some help. I wasn't in with their collections depts but I can't see why that should make a difference.
